Kremlin: Too early to forecast Russia's energy revenue decrease
MOSCOW, Jan 11 (PRIME) – Saying how much energy sales revenue Russia will lose is premature because there are no figures to substantiate such forecasts, spokesman for the president Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.
"It may be better to ask our experts, firstly, Prime Minister Alexander Novak who oversees the sector, but it is certainly too early," Peskov said.
The Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air in Helsinki estimated Russia's losses from the oil price ceiling at 160 billion euros with figure growing to 280 billion euros after February 5, when the embargo enters in force.
According to Peskov, Russia has not encountered any price restrictions during energy sales. A presidential decree banning sales under restricted price terms is in force, he said.
